In early 2024, the last million-kilowatt hydropower generator unit of China's Baihetan Hydropower Station (developed by Dongfang Electric and Harbin Electric) was officially put into operation, marking the full completion of the world's largest clean energy corridor. The unit is 100% localized, with a single unit capacity of 1 million kilowatts and an efficiency of more than 96%, representing the pinnacle of world hydropower technology.
Significance: Promote China's hydropower equipment manufacturing capacity to rank first in the world, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 52 million tons per year
